The 21-year-old is currently a student at Kenyatta University pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Physical Education.
His recent achievement came on Saturday March 5, 2022 as he launched his first book on refereeing known as ‘Redefining a Kenyan Referee’.
“The book took me at least one and a half years to publish...the book retails at Ksh500,” Ishuga noted in a past interview.
Ishuga noted that he was responsible for the writing, the graphic designing and also some bit of editing of the book.
The young rugby official notes that passion drove him to his profession unlike many referees who are either retired rugby players.
“I was passionate about it at first but I also want to change how people perceive refereeing, like to be a referee you have to be retired from active playing, no, you can be young and still a referee,” Ishuga noted earlier.
Ishuga has also attended officiating courses in Nakuru and Nairobi with his latest high-profile match to officiate was between Kabras and KBC.
Ishuga gets his inspiration from one of the legendary referees from South Africa, Rasta Rasivhenge who officiated at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
