
Former Manchester United tactician and Netherlands head coach, Louis Van Gaal has prostate cancer. However, the football manager revealed that he still plans to lead his country to the World Cup in Qatar in the coming months.
Van Gaal broke the news on a local television show in the Netherlands called Humberto on Sunday, April 4 while promoting a new documentary about his life.
During the show, he stated that his players had no clue about his illness but rather thought he was in perfect health.

According to the revered football manager, illness is not something new to him as he has been through a lot with illnesses including that of his wife.
" I as a human being have probably become richer because of all those experiences. I thought that should also be in the film,” Gaal said.
As of August 2021, Van Gaal took charge of the Netherlands team for the third time. He previously led them to a third-place finish at the 2014 World Cup.
Gaal came in as a replacement for Frank de Boer after a disappointing Euro 2020 campaign.
Before returning to manage his country team, Gaal managed Manchester United between 2014 and 2016.
United parted ways with Van Gaal and sealed a deal with Jose Mourinho despite leading Man U to the FA Cup success in the final game of his tenure.

Gaal,s former football club took to Twitter to show him support as he bravely battles illness.
"Everybody at Manchester United is fully behind our former manager, Louis van Gaal, in his battle against cancer. Sending you strength and courage, Louis," the tweet said.
He has won two league titles with Ajax, who he also led to the Champions league in 1995.
