
Elias Chelimo and Sheila Chepkech produced spectacular performances on Sunday, October 30, 2022 to bag the Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon titles.
Chelimo crossed the finishing line in 2:10.22 ahead of Wilfred Kirwa and Felix Kipkorir.
Chepkech, who registered an 8th place finish in the 2021 edition ran alone for the most part of the marathon to win the women's category in 2:27.04.
In the 21km men's category, Daniel Simiu Ebenyo ran away with the title.
The 27-year-old broke away in the final stages of the race and went on to win the race.

More than 4,000 runners took part in the 21km race which was flagged off by the Cabinet Secretary of Youth affairs, Sports and Arts Ababu Namwamba at the Uhuru Gardens grounds.
Namwamba urged Kenyan runners not to engage in doping which is becoming a problem in the country.
"Early this morning I flagged off the 19th @StanChartKE marathon at Uhuru Gardens, Nairobi.
"I have urged all the athletes to compete clean to promote Kenya's reputation as a sporting nation that plays by the rules, against doping," read a statement from Namwamba.
Speaking during the award ceremony, Standard Chartered Bank Chief Executive Officer Kariuki Ngari thanked all the participants for changing lives.
"We appreciate the 20,000+ runners who attended the #StanChartNairobiMarathon from all around the world and their immense contribution to the Future Makers program through the marathon" stated Ngari.
Future Makers is a program that supports disadvantaged persons in society, particular those with visual impairments.
Winners in the 42km category were each awarded Ksh 2 million.
