Even though 2022 has not been the year for Harambee Stars, Kenya’s international footballers have impressed their clubs, with some of them helping their clubs to lift trophies.
Team Kenya has compiled a list of notable footballers who helped their teams lift trophies in 2022.
Michael Olunga
Olunga was on target as Al-Duhail demolished Al Gharafa 5-1 in the final of the Amir Cup on Friday night, March 18.

The victory was enough to earn the Harambee Stars skipper his first trophy with the Qatari outfit, a side he joined in January 2021.
Al-Duhail booked a place in the tournament to face Al Gharafa after edging league champions Al Sadd in a five-goal thriller.
Brian Mandela
The Harambee Stars defender lifted his first top-flight title outside the country as Mamelodi Sundowns sealed a record-extending fifth consecutive South African Premiership title.
Sundowns closed the league with a 0-0 draw home to Cape Town City in Pretoria.
Mandela joined Sundowns in October 2020 and has slowly grown into a mainstay in the Pretoria-based club, becoming a core member of the backline.
The draw secured his team a point, enough for Sundowns to win the league with four matches.
Sundowns won the MTN 8 knockout competition and the Premiership earlier in the season.
Esse Akida
Harambee Starlets forward Esse Akida was on the score sheet as her side AC PAOK drew 1-1 with Chalkida Avantes to win the Greek Women's Premier League with one game left to play.
PAOK have now won the league title eight years since 2015, with the latest title being their 17th in the top-tier league in just 20 years.
“Bagging the goal that handed us the league title is what dreams are made of. For the 17th time in the club's history,” Akida stated after her team’s win.
