Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has revealed the conditions that could see him leave Etihad.

In a pre-match presser on Friday, December 30, the Spanish manager noted that he will only leave the club once he feels the players are tired of his style.

Pep extended his stay at Manchester City after he penned down a two-year contract in November 2022 which will see him at the club until 2025.

"I continue to say I'm not going to stay like Fergie and Arsene. The contract is just paper. I extended because I have the feeling we can still play well. But in the end, it's the results. If we are tired of each other, I will not finish this contract," Pep stated.

Should he complete the remaining term of his contract, Pep will have coached in the English Premier League for nine years.

The Manchester City boss added that the fact that the players are still fighting for trophies is also a major boost for his stay at the club.

He highlighted 18-year-old full-back, Rico Lewis, as one of the players who are motivating the entire squad.

" That’s why we need Rico Lewis - because for him it’s wow, it’s new. ‘I want to be there, I want to play, I want to stay a long time here, I want to win one Premier League.

"This energy is contagious. He gives it to me and he gives it to the players. It puts pressure on the others and it is so necessary,” Pep noted.
