Kenya, South Africa Among Countries That Will Miss the 2021 AFCON

Eight teams that took part in the 2019 African Cup Of Nation will miss out on this year's showpiece after being eliminated in the cup qualifiers.

South Africa was one of the teams to bow out from the competition after South Africa succumbed to a 2-0 loss on their visit to Sudan for their Group C face off. Bafana Bafana finished 3rd in their group 2 points beneath Sudan.

In the 2019 Africa Cup Of Nations South Africa eliminated hosts Egypt in the round of 16 to proceed into the quarter finals of the competition.

The East African pentagon of Kenya,Uganda, Tanzania Rwanda and Burundi also got eliminated in the group stages of the qualifiers with Uganda failing to save their fate which lay in the hands of Malawi in the Group B of the AFCON qualifiers that saw Malawi win 1-0 on their home turf.

Kenya failed to make it past the group stages of the qualifiers after The Pharaohs held them to a 1-1 draw in a must win match at Kasarani.

Other teams that were knocked out of the cup qualifiers are DRC Congo ,Namibia, Madagascar,Togo ,South Sudan,Mozambique,Niger among several others.

The 2021 African Cup of Nations will be held in Cameroon. The 33rd edition of the international men's soccer championship of Africa will see 24 teams participate in the competition.
