Kenyan Forward Ovellah Ochieng has sealed a move to South African Premier Soccer League side Marumo Gallants. Ochieng will rejoin his former Harambee Stars coach, Sebastian Migne on a season-long deal. The 21 year old had his contract at Swedish side Vasalunds If runned down before making a return to Kenya back in June. Ochieng has since been a free agent and will finally get his chance to shine at the South African side. Ochieng made his name in Kenya at Kariobangi Sharks but spent three seasons in Sweden at Vasalunds IF.
The young turk is now the latest attacking acquisition for Gallants under Migné after the addition of Ivorian striker Sede Dion who has joined the club after leaving Botswana topflight side Jwaneng Galaxy.
The PSL club has changed ownership in the past two years after it purchased the Premier League status of Bidvest Wits and rebranded to Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC before undergoing another name change to Marumo Gallants at the end of last season. Former Gor Mahia head coach Dylan Kerr also guided the club to Nedbank Cup success last season which later earned them a place in the Confederation Cup.
Migne is reported to have signed the Kenyan forward for his squad ahead of the 2021/2022 Dstv Premiership campaign which kicks off this weekend. Gallants finished last season at 12th place with 7 wins and 13 losses.
