
Kenya Pipeline women volleyball team are expected to participate in the African Club Championship later this month in Tunisia's capital Tunis.
The Oil girls are set to depart for Tunisia this weekend as the continental tournament is set to kick off from 19th of April upt May 1st . With the preparations still going on in the same intensity the Pipeline girls are looking forward to putting up performance .
Despite the suspension of sporting activities in the country the Kenya Pipeline girls Volleyball team has not shifted their focus of winning the tournament on an away turf.
On their campaign to win the African Club Championship the Kenyan side are facing a big blow in their squad depth as they will be missing the services of their sensational left attacker Pamela Adhiambo , their middle blocker Gladys Ekaru and Agripina Kundu who on in the Malkia Strikers training camp who are preparing for an international duty in the upcoming Olympic games in Tokyo.
Despite the trio's absence the team is hopeful and focused to win the gold medal in the tournament. The team has been posting outstanding performances in the continental tournament and can not shy away at this juncture. They were third in the tournament in the 2019 edition in Egypt and are looking forward to taking a much bigger step in this year's edition.
The Kenyan ladies are set for the challenge ahead and are looking forward to dethroning the reigning champions Al Ahly women's team of Egypt who have clinched the most titles in the tournament with 10 titles.
The tournament in Tunisia will take place behind closed doors as the organisers and players in the tournament are meant to observe the COVID 19 protocols.The winners of the African Club Championship will be expected to feature in the FIVB Volleyball Women's Womens Club Championship North America.
