Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola wants a more lively derby as his side meets Manchester United on Saturday.
The Spaniard was speaking to the media ahead of the match, played down the importance of the game at the moment despite being five points behind leaders Chelsea.
A devastating 2-0 home loss to Crystal Palace was a wakeup call for the reigning champions and Guardiola knows his side cannot afford to drop any more points.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also a man under pressure, a 5-0 home loss to rivals Liverpool was enough embarrassment and he will want to avoid a second one in a row.
“I don’t feel it,” when asked if the derby means more around the club,” Guardiola said.
“I wake up in the morning, I’m here to this bubble, then 10-14 hours here and after go home, I’m not in the restaurants, I don’t know the atmosphere.
“I can imagine for both sides it’s normal. The emotion, try to win the derby and do well. I have to be cold. To know exactly what we have to do, to do our best. No more than that.
“We did good games against them, maybe not good results. Except one game last season, it was a little bit boring, both teams were a little bit scared.
“They were out of the Champions League, playing five at the back in Leipzig and they could not win the Europa League. We were not in a good moment either.
“They are so good up front, now [with] Cristiano Ronaldo they’re even better. We know the quality they have, in general we make a good game in the Carabao Cup.
“Good game there and at home. We were ourselves when we played against them – sometimes we win, sometimes we lose.”And when asked if the derby is the biggest game for City, Guardiola said: “I don’t think so, maybe it is for some people.
“We try to treat every game with importance. Of course derbies are special for many sentimental issues but we want the same results.”
The match kicks off at 15:30 EAT
