
Kariobangi Sharks moved top of the FKF Premier League table after beatng Nairobi City Stars 2-1 at Ruaraka Grounds On Saturday afternoon.
Sharks started the match brightly and were close to open scores but a freekick by Steve Otieno hit the post.
In the 20th minute Patilah Omoto came close to scoring, but his short effort from his foot went over the bar.
Sharks continued pressing and eventually at the 24th minute Erick Mmata was brought down in the box by Lennox Oguttu, prompting the referee to point to the spot and Geoffrey Shiveka put in the penalty kick giving Sharks the lead.
City Stars had their chances in the first half, but none of them could make it count when it mattered most and had to go into the break trailing.
As the second half began, City Stars looked lively with a couple of dangerous attacks and at 10 minutes into the first half Ezekiel Odera put in a goal at close range.
After the equalizer Sharks manager, William Muluya, brought in Eric Juma and Sydney Lokale for Steve Otieno and Felix Oluoch as his counterpart in City Stars Nicholas Muyoti, brought in Rodgers Okumu for Agesa.
With 22 minutes remaining for the game to end Sharks scored through Patrick Otieno who came in as sub.
