After a rather unimpressive form, AFC Leopards managed to knick their second win of the season after winning 1-0 against Posta Rangers.
Washington Munene had his name on the score sheet after thumping an incredible free kick past Ranger's keeper Jairus Adira in the first half.
For Ingwe's coach, the win has gone down as not so impressive. Patrick Aussems lamented his team's performance as not being quite top notch.
"I think that it's because as we scored early, my players are like tennis players; the fear of winning, and the second half we were only thinking of defending and protecting the goals. I don't want my team to play like that," Aussems said
"To be honest with you, I'm disappointed with the performance but happy for the result and for the guys. The most important thing is the 3 points, I hope that in the next three games, we will be able to take 3 more points and perform well." Aussems added.
"Remember we lost 16 players, we are currently working with young players so it takes time. It was possible to get this kind of past results which is 5 defeats in a row. This victory was so important as the players were also a little bit under pressure." Aussems concluded.
For Rangers Coach Stanley Okumbi, the result was quite unfortunate."Consistency is the key as you look at this result, if you look at the last games, we played well against Nzoia, we also dominated the game against City Stars." He said.
"We have had consistency problems in scoring today otherwise we would have won the game. We actually dominated the game, kept possession well but yet again playing well doesn't mean you'll always win, at the end of the day the team that scores wins the game," Okumbi concluded.
With today's result, AFC Leopards are currently in 13th place with 7 points whereas Posta Rangers lie in 10th place with 10 points.
