
Kenya is known as the hub of top athletes who sweep medals at top global athletics events putting the Nation on the map and making Kenyans proud.
By winning these top titles the athletes bag millions of shillings in form of prizes, with different athletes spending the money from the wins differently.
In some cases, the athletes are profiled for squandering their income and eventually hitting rock bottom, however some athletes have invested in money-minting ventures.
TeamKenya.co.ke takes a look at some of the Kenyan athletes who have invested in high-end properties, that have won the admiration of many.
Kipchoge Keino
Kipchoge Keino, one of the best Kenyan athletes has participated in local and international events, placing himself among the renowned and successful athletes.
After hanging his boots, the two-time Olympic gold medalist was appointed as the chairman of the Kenyan Olympic Committee (KOC).
The Olympic medalist is the founder of the Kip Keino Sports House in Eldoret, which he started to sharpen and inspire other upcoming athletes.
Lornah Kiplagat
Kenya's veteran athlete, Lorna Kiplagat, is known for her process in long-distance runner having scooped gold in various events.
The athlete is the owner of High Altitude Training Centre (HATC), back in her hometown of Iten.
The camp, is highly ranked for its training facilities for athletes serving as host to stars such as 800m world record holder David Rudisha, Mo Farah and Paula Radcliffe among others
The camp also hosts the British Athletics for their winter training.

Laban Rotich
The legendary 1,500 metre athlete is known for his success at the IAAF World Cup 1,500 metre final in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1998.
As a tribute to his success in his athletics career Laban established a high end building in Eldoret and called it Johannesburg Plaza.
Moses Kiptanui
Moses Kiptanui , the three time IAAF World Champion, was also the first man ever to run 3000m steeplechase in under eight minutes.
Uponr retiring from athletics Kiptanui established Utamaduni House in Eldoret. He also established the Komora Centre and Komora Estate in Eldoret and Nairobi respectively.
Moses Tanui
Moses Tanui who is known for his prowess in the half marathon has various accolades having won twice the Boston Marathon and also becoming the first man in the world to run the half marathon in under an hour.
The top athlete who won various IAAF Grand Prix races, was inspired to build a hotel in Eldoret and named it the Grandpri Hotel.
