Swiss billionaire Hansjorg Wyss has come out and claimed he is one of four parties to have received an offer to buy Chelsea from Roman Abramovich.

This comes after it was announced earlier that Abramovich would step back from his duties as owner of the club.

The club owner had initially stated that the club's Charitable Foundation would be put in charge to run the club after his exit since purchasing the club in 2003.

However, the move became impossible as at least two of the six trustees tasked with running Chelsea considered stepping down from their roles.

Wyss while speaking to the press, suggested that he had received an offer to buy Chelsea on Tuesday, March 1, from the Russian billionaire.

The 86-year-old billionaire stated that what Abramovic was asking for was far too much.

“Abramovich is trying to sell all his villas in England. Like all other oligarchs, he is also in a panic,” Wyss stated.

The Swiss billionaire also revealed that Abramovic wants to get rid of the club quickly and has already made offers to other three people.

"I have to wait four to five days now. Abramovich is currently asking far too much. You know, Chelsea owe him Ksh303 billion (£2billion).

Wyss added that he has no intentions of being the sole owner of Chelsea as he would instead go on to suggest that he would look to have partners.
