
Bahati, a slum in Nakuru county has been ignored for quite a long time when it comes to football talent scouting. Many scouts would rarely turn to Nakuru county in search for talent. However, in recent years, the county has proven to be pivotal for future footballing talents.
For many years Nakuru County has not been hosting tournaments until the 18-year-old Leon Osoro dribbled the ball to his stardom.
Osoro impressed and in the tip, brought an opportunity to be unveiled as a knowledgeable footballer, playing his commerce for Alicante FC in Alicante City, Spain, with the signing, the narrative about Bahati in Nakuru County changed.
The young footballer was spotted by a panel of skilled Kenyan coaches led by former Coast Stars and Tusker FC midfielder David Kenga of Elite Soccer Training in South Carolina, the United States America, and Bob Oyugi of Education in Sports Academy in Nairobi, Osoro who passed his trials.

Speaking to the media, Osoro expressed his joy of joining the Spanish side, “I’m very happy to be at Alicante FC. This is a quiet city and the people at the academy are very friendly. It is a great place for anyone hoping to be a professional footballer.”
“Ours is to continue with the mission of scouting for talent and eventually award full sports scholarships to the deserving players,” Oyugi a scouting coach stated
The new improvement has additionally impressed younger footballers from Bahati sub-county who participate in the divisional and regional leagues of the Football Kenya Federation.
Kenya Football Coaches Association vice-chairman Peter Kamau instructed the children to seize the opportunity and enhance their lives.
“Such opportunities are rare and these youngsters should grab this opportunity to have their talents assessed by these coaches and later, become football greats,” Kamau advised
