
Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, has dismissed allegations on the possibility of retiring from international football.
The player, who appeared irritated when questioned about his international future, was quick to defend his team on the day of Portugal’s World Cup play-off.
When asked about international retirement, the 37-year-old stated that the decision was with him and that his country comes first.
“I’m starting to see the same question a lot,” he said.
“Nobody else but me will determine my future. If I feel like it, I’ll play some more. If I don't feel like, I don’t play. I’m in charge, period.”

He added that he would not be be coerced into making a statement about his international future amid speculations that this year’s World Cup will be his last appearance on the global stage.
Portugal is set to face a winner-takes-all playoff against North Macedonia on Tuesday, the team that kicked Italy out of the World Cup, for its second time in a row.
Ronaldo, who leads the Portuguese team has had a tremendous international career.
He was the all-time record goal-scorer in last year’s men’s international football when he scored two late goals in a 2 - 1 home win against Ireland in the World Cup qualification campaign.
His record stands at 115 goals in 185 appearances for Portugal.
“I live one day at a time. Only God knows tomorrow. I enjoy football and still feel useful both at the club and at the national team,” said Ronaldo.
