
Algeria Football Federation has requested a replay of the 2022 World Cup playoffs against Cameroon, citing numerous referees’ errors.
According to the Algeria FA, the Gambia referee officiating the match ruled out Algeria’s first goal that was supposed to stand.
Algeria had two goals cancelled in the return fixture that took place in Blida, Algeria.

According to reports from Algerian media, FIFA president called for an investigation into the match after receiving a report from the German referee in charge of the VAR room.
Algeria went down 1-0 in the 22nd minute and thought they’d levelled in the 98th minute when Islam Slimani appeared to have headed the ball home.
However, video replays showed that the ball struck his arm and the goal was disallowed.
They later managed to level in the 118th minute, but Cameroon scored again late at the 124th minute to make it 2-2 on aggregate, booking their place in the Qatar 2022.
The 2019 AFCON Winners, Algeria, were thus disqualified.
Egypt also complained to FIFA after their defeat to Senegal, following a missed penalty by Salah. The Liverpool star was reportedly affected by the lasers shone on his face by Senegal fans.
The Pharaohs headed to Dakar looking to defend a 1-0 first-leg lead and qualify for the World Cup for the second time following their appearance in 2018.
