Argentina’s football legend Diego Maradona shirt that he wore when he scored the infamous ‘Hand of God’ goal is set to be sold for Ksh602 Million (£4 million).
The jersey is currently under the ownership of ex-English footballer Steve Hodge after he swapped shirts with Maradona following the match in Mexico.
Hodge has decided to cash in on the jersey and if he successfully sells the shirt, it will be the most valuable football shirt in the history of the game.

“The Hand of God shirt has deep cultural meaning to the football world, the people of Argentina and the people of England and I’m certain that the new owner will have immense pride in owning the world’s most iconic football shirt.”
The ex-England international has been the custodian of the jersey for a period of 35 years.
The 1986 quarter-final between Argentina and England in Mexico City remains one of the most memorable matches in football’s history.
Maradona scored a controversial goal that helped his team score the first goal when he kicked the ball past England’s goalkeeper, Peter Shilton, using his hand.
After the match in which Argentina won 2-1, the English player swapped shirts with Maradona which attracted sharp criticism from his teammates who were furious at the Argentine for his first goal.
Maradona died in 2020 making it hard for Hodge to accept any offers to buy the shirt.
The shirt will now be sold at an online auction opening on April 20 where it will be on display at the auction house’s London offices.
