In May 2021, Kenya will have the honour to witness some of the greatest athletes competing in the country at the Kipchoge Keino Classic.

American sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson is set to go head-on with the 35-year-old Jamaican sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser at the Kip Keino Classic.

Shelly-Ann Fraser is a four-time Olympics gold medalist, and also a nine-time World Champion gold medalist.

Sha'Carri Richardson on her part won the 100m titles at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and 2012 London Olympics and the 4x100m gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Shelly-Ann is one of the most decorated athletes when it comes to the World Athletics Championships, having won a total of 10 gold medals and two silver medals.

The Jamaican is the only athlete to win four world titles in the 100m having bagged the title in 2019 at the age of 32, making her the oldest female sprinter.

The 22-year-old American sprinter recently suffered a setback after qualifying for the 2020 Summer Olympics at the United States trials but tested positive to cannabis which led to her one month ban.

In April 2021, Richardson became the sixth fastest woman of all time and also the fourth fastest American woman after running a personal best of 10.72 seconds.

At the age of 19, Richardson was already the 10th fastest woman in history after clocking a time of 10.75 seconds when she was at the university.

The Kip Keino Classic Third Edition will take place on May 7, at the Kasarani Stadium with the winners receiving medals and prize money as well as getting ranking points.
