
Seven-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton and 23 times Grand Slam winner Serena Williams have committed billions of shillings to one of the bids vying to become the new owners of Chelsea Football Club.
Both top athletes in their different fields have agreed to invest an estimated Ksh3 billion (£20 million) into the consortium spearheaded by former Liverpool FC chairman Sir Martin Broughton.
Lewis Hamilton, who is known to be an Arsenal fan, shocks many with his attempt to help purchase Chelsea.

It has also been reported that both Lewis and Williams have been in talks with the group spearheaded by Sir Martin for several weeks.
Both have in recent years invested in various entities, with Williams being one of the investors in the Los Angeles -based women's football club - Angel City.
Famous NBA star Lebron James is also involved in football as he has been a small shareholder in Liverpool for more than a decade.
The Blues have been up for sale since March after owner Roman Abramovich was hit by sanctions from the UK government due to his ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The other two remaining bidders in the race to purchase Chelsea are consortiums headed by Todd Boehly who is part of the owners of the LA Dodgers baseball team, and Steve Pagliuca, who has shares in the NBA's Boston Celtics and Serie A's Atalanta.
Hamilton who has had quite a challenging Formula 1 season will be competing at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola on Sunday, April 24.
Chelsea are currently third in the Premier League despite suffering a recent loss to Arsenal with the manager attributing it to the poor state of the stadium.
“The pitch is difficult to play here, maybe it sounds like an excuse but it is a very difficult pitch here, not to our favour.
“The ball bounces very awkwardly in front of Andreas but still we had the same mistake against Real Madrid that cost us the next round in the Champions League. This one cost us this match,” Tuchel lamented
