
Manchester United has on Thursday, April 21, announced the appointment of Erik ten Hag as the new first team manager.
Ten Hag who is expected to take charge of the team after the end of the season has penned down a contract that will see him at Old Trafford until 2025 with an option to extend for a further year.
The Dutch manager is currently in charge of Ajax who are currently leading the Durch top tier, the Eredivisie with five matches left for the season to end.

“Manchester United is delighted to announce the appointment of Erik ten Hag as Men’s First Team Manager, subject to work visa requirements, from the end of this season until June 2025, with the option to extend for a further year,” a statement from Manchester United read.
Manchester United Football Director John Murtogh praised the new manager for his attacking approach in the game.
“During the past four years at Ajax, Erik has proved himself to be one of the most exciting and successful coaches in Europe, renowned for his team’s attractive, attacking football and commitment to youth,” John Murtogh noted.
Murtogh also noted that the reason they settled for ten Hag as the manager as a result of his impressive managerial career.
The new Red Devils manager had something to say after his appointment noting that he hopes to help the club find success.
“It is a great honour to be appointed manager of Manchester United and I am hugely excited by the challenge ahead. I know the history of this great club and the passion of the fans, and I am absolutely determined to develop a team capable of delivering the success they deserve.
“It will be difficult to leave Ajax after these incredible years, and I can assure our fans of my complete commitment and focus on bringing this season to a successful conclusion before I move to Manchester United,” ten Hag noted.
