Harambee Stars Striker Lands Job With UK Club

Kenyan international striker Jonah Ayunga is set to join Sottish’s, St.Mirren FC this summer on a two-year contract. 

Speaking to the International news outlet, Renfrewshire Sport, St. Mirren boss Stephen Robinson noted that the 24-year-old star was the fourth signing set to join the club. 

He noted that the move to sign Ayunga was influenced by the need to strengthen the squad to an elite level.

“All four will strengthen the squad and enhance what we’ve already got. I believe we need a couple more, maybe three, so there’s still more business to be done. Especially when the market opens up in England.” the St. Mirren's coach retaliated.

“We’ve got four players signed which we’ll announce over the coming weeks," stated the buddies boss.

Other players signed by the Scottish club include midfielder Keanu Baccus from Sydney Wanderers and Mark O’ Hara from Motherwell. 

An agreement has also been made to sign Dundee United’s keeper Trevor Carson.

Ayunga, who previously played for Morecambe, scored six goals in 42 match appearances at the Scottish-based club.  

Two goals were against Wycombe Wanderers, one against Plymouth Argyle, two against Accrington Stanley, and one against Portsmouth on Easter Monday.

The buddies who were on the edge of the cliff beat Dundee 2-0 over the weekend earning them premiership status for another season.

Ayunga was born to a Kenyan father and English mother in England and represents Kenya internationally.
