Red Devils' manager Erik Ten Hag has vowed to scatter Manchester City and Liverpool's English Premier League domination.

The 52-year-old former Ajax boss was unveiled at Old Trafford on Monday, May 23, and immediately set his sights on breaking the domination of United's two greatest rivals.

The two Premier League sides finished first and second position in the just concluded English Premier League 2021/22 season.

Ten Hag takes on a struggling giant which finished sixth in the previous season of the English top-flight with a mere 58 points compared to the City's 93 whose one-point difference with the reds made them clinch the league title for the fourth time in five seasons.

The Dutchman is set to take over at the start of next season and is confident to take on the two giants even with Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp as the managers.

Ten Hag dismissed the idea that to beat the two giants their coaches must ship out instead of expressing admiration for his two counterparts.

'I think so, yeah the two coaches are doing a good job, but you will always see an era come to an end — I am looking forward to a battle with them.

"At this moment I admire them both. They play at this moment really fantastic football, both Liverpool and Manchester City"

The Dutchman is United's fifth permanent manager since the club last won a league title under  Alex Ferguson in 2013.

Ten Hag stated he was up to the task of handling a big team after his stints at Ajax and Bayern Munich.

'I don't see it as a risk. This club has a great history and now let's make a future. What we're thinking is, 'this is a project and it takes time.

"But I also know at this club and at other clubs like Ajax and Bayern Munich, that at the top there is never time" stated Ten Hag.
