The Kenya Premier League side Gor Mahia has come out to explain why the club has not yet paid its Malian goalkeeper.
This comes after the club's goalkeeper, Adama Keita reported the club to the world football governing body FIFA over nonpayment of his dues.
Gor signed the 31-year-old goalkeeper from CI Kamsar of Guinea on a two-year contract in August 2021.

Speaking exclusively to TeamKenya.co.ke Gor Mahia Secretary General Sam Ocholla clarified that the club was hit by a financial crisis occasioned by the pandemic that broke out in 2020.
He added that the goalkeeper and other players have received half of their dues.
“Over half payments were made during the pandemic period. This affected the whole club but he decided to report it.
“We are in the process of paying him all his dues before the end of this month(July),” Ocholla noted.
K’Ogalo has in the past faced trouble from players who have reported them to FIFA over unpaid dues.
In the 2021/2022 season, Gor finished third behind Kakamega Homeboyz and Tusker, who finished second and first respectively.
In 2021, a complaint was filed against the Green Army, for signing the Malian and other players at a time when they were banned from acquiring new players.
