“The World Athletics Championships Oregon22 will be streamed live in some territories on the World Athletics YouTube and Facebook channels. Action from each session will be shown and competition times are available on the event schedule.

“The Livestream will not be available in all territories,” a statement from World Athletics read.

At the World Championship Kenya will have 18 teams competing in different race events.

This will be the first time in the history of America that it is hosting the World Athletic Championships.

Various athletes have however experienced challenges in traveling due to delayed visas to the United States.

Africa’s 100m record holder Ferdinand Omanyala and 10,000 metres star Sheila Chepkirui together with some of Team Kenya officials were among those affected by the delays.

According to a statement issued by the World Athletics, event organizers were working on solutions to have athletes travel to the USA.

"The Oregon 22 organizing committee and World Athletics are working closely with the USOPC to follow up on Visa applications, the majority of which have been successfully resolved.  We continue to follow up with those outstanding visa issues.

"International travel, in general, has become more challenging due to the pandemic and we are extremely grateful for the help and experience of the USOPC in helping to resolve issues that have come up in the last few weeks," World Athletics statement read.

Omanyala found reprieve on Thursday, July 14 after receiving his visa and he is expected to arrive barely three hours before his race.
