A cab driver who made a long trip to return Bayer Munich’s goalkeeper Manuel Neuer's wallet has expressed his disappointment at how he was rewarded.

According to Sky Sports Germany, the cab driver revealed that after his gesture, he only received a jersey from the goalkeeper.

The driver had driven the goalie from the training ground to an apartment in Munich, he later found a wallet that belonged to Nuer containing Ksh98,000 (£700) in cash as well as several cards.

If the cab operator had a regular passenger, it is estimated he would have received Ksh48,000 (£340).

"Neuer's names and addresses were on his ID. I found a lot of cash, credit cards and a driver’s license owned by Neuer in the car.

“After returning the wallet, about 10 days later, a box arrived at my house. There was only a jersey in the box, not even a thank you note.

“This finder's fee is a mockery! I have four children, he made fun of me. I cannot do anything with the jersey, it's a complete disappointment," the taxi driver noted.

According to German law, if you stumble on Ksh60,000 (£425) or more you are entitled to a five percent finder's fee.

In a scenario whereby the money found is more, an additional three percent is given to the individual.

If the law was to be followed, the Cab driver would receive at least Ksh4,000 (£29).
