How to Watch the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Kenya

The 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games will see Kenya making its 17th appearance at the Games. 

Kenya has a contingent of 157 athletes who will represent the country at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.  

The Commonwealth Games, which will run for 11 days will start on Thursday, July 28, and end on Monday, August 8.

Kenyans can keep up to date with the games via Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC). 

Some of the games Kenya will participate in are; Athletics, Para-Athletics, Rugby, Boxing, Triathlon, Hockey, Lawn bowls, Judo, Wheelchair Basketball, 3x3 Basketball and Badminton. 

Others are; Table tennis, Wrestling, Swimming, Beach Volleyball, Para-powerlifting, Cycling and Para-cycling, 

Team Kenya had their welcoming dinner on July 27, at Millennium Point in the heart of Birmingham City with  National Olympic Committee-Kenya (NOC-K) president Paul Tergat and Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed welcoming athletes. 

During the dinner, Sports CS Amina Mohamed pointed out that Kenya had raised the bar high in sports after successfully hosting various events. 

“From Marathons in Town, Deaflympics, hosting Continental tour, the Safari Rally. We have really enjoyed and raised the bar high in Sports. Let’s show this off at the games. 

“We’re excited to show the world what Kenya is made of Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth games. As we compete against 56 nations, let’s do it with honesty, integrity and Love. Just as the red affair in the room,” Amina stated.
