He could be in line to join an elite list of Kenyan internationals who successfully transitioned from high school rugby stars into the national team.
Shujaa legend Humphrey Kayange - the first Kenyan to be inducted into the Hall of fame by World Rugby, Andrew Amonde, Edward Rombo, Billy Odhiambo and Willy Ambaka are just a few examples.
Kayange went to rugby powerhouse Kakamega High School while Rombo’s impressive career was nurtured at Nairobi School.
Rombo, the first Kenyan to turn professional, captained Nairobi School to the national secondary schools games title in 1986. While still at school, Rombo used to play for Barclays Bank Rugby Club.
