Beijing Marathon Returns After Two-Yr Break

Beijing Marathon is set to make a comeback in November after a two-year hiatus according to the event's organisers. 

The Chinese City put sports on hold  2019 after the pandemic, however, according to the organisers a total of 30,00 runners will grace the event.

It was also announced that the athlete's registration will officially start on October 4, and will end on October 7.

“The North Marathon Organizing Committee would like to express its sincere thanks to all walks of life and runners for their support over the years.  

“We wish everyone smooth registration and a successful lottery and look forward to witnessing the grand start of the 2022 Shell Beijing Marathon with you!” part of the statement read. 

The registration fee differs for locals and foreigners with Chinese nationals required to pay Ksh3,396 (200 yuan) per person. Foreigners will part with a total of ksh6,042 ($50) per person. 

“After successful registration, the registration fee will not be refunded. The number of places is limited to the participant, and no transfer is allowed,” the statement read in parts. 

Participants will also be required provide their personal information when registering. 

Runners who had qualified for the 2021 competition until 2022 have their entry quota reserved by the organizing committee but must complete the registration within the specified time and meet the registration requirements for the Marathon. 

Recently on Friday, September 30 the World Team Table Tennis Championships, kicked off in Chengdu, China. 

China is also expected to host the season-ending World Tour Finals for badminton in December.
