The Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) announced pools for the 2022 Schools Prescott national tournament on Monday, October 24.

According to a press release issued by KRU, ten teams will participate in this year's edition set to begin on Friday.

"The KRU Prescott National Schools Championship is set to take place at the RFUEA Ground from 28th to 30th October 2022.

"A total of ten teams, split into two pools of five will take part in the 15s tournament," read part of the statement from KRU.

In the fixture seen by TeamKenya.co.ke, Vihiga High School has been placed in a tough pool which also has Kang'aru, Lenana, Mang'u and Jomo Kenyatta.

Favorites Ofafa Jericho from Nairobi will battle it out with Maseno School, Kiambu, Gede and Kisii High.

Upper Hill School, who won the title on four consecutive occasions between 2016 and 2019, failed to qualify for this year’s edition.

The 2020 and 2021 editions were not held due to the pandemic that stopped all school activities.

KRU also revealed that students who will be in school uniform will be allowed to access the venue for free while ordinary Kenyans will have to pay Ksh200 daily to watch the games.

The first match of the championship will see Kisii High play Gede at 8am on Friday before Kiambu High entertain Ofafa Jericho at 9am.

The finals of the tournament is expected to be played on Sunday at 4:30pm.
