National Basketball Association (NBA) superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is the only person followed by WhatsApp on Twitter.

WhatsApp only follows two accounts on Twitter, WhatsApp Business and Antetokounmpo.

In February 2022, the Meta messaging platform announced the two-time MVP as its first global spokesperson.

Giannis, who is a WhatsApp brand ambassador, worked with the Meta App on a short film titled Naija Odyssey, which expressed the importance of the app to the Milwaukee Bucks player.

The film is narrated by Antetokounmpo and his mother, who talks about his origin and upbringing.

Giannis, who was born in Athens, Greece, has Nigerian roots as his parents are from the West African country.

His manager Georgios Printezis took charge of the deal to allow Giannis to concentrate on basketball.

WhatsApp's head of global brand, Vivian Odior, stated that Giannis’ story was a perfect example of why the app was created.

The 27-year-old NBA Star noted that WhatsApp convinced him to be its brand ambassador after learning how the app connected with his story.
