Borussia Dortmund teenager Youssoufa Moukoko is giving Cameroon and Germany sleepless nights ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup slated to take place from Sunday, November 20, in Qatar.

The 17-year-old is among one of the highly rated under 20 footballers in the world currently.

FecaFoot President Samuel Eto'o and Cameroon's head coach Rigobert Song have also expressed interest in the talented player who has made several appearances for the Germany youth sides.

However, with his inclusion in Germany's preliminary squad, Cameroon are most likely to miss out on the fast-rising striker.

Moukoko, who was raised by his grandparents, relocated from Cameroon to Germany at the age of 10 to stay with his dad in Hamburg.

He enrolled at an academy in 2014 and it did not take long before his talent was spotted.

Dortmund signed him and their gamble paid off since he went on to bag 26 assists and scored 127 goals in just 84 appearances for Borrussia youth sides.

In 2021, Youssoufa became the youngest ever player to feature in the Bundesliga when he came on as a substitute in Dortmund's 5-2 hammering of Hertha Berlin.

This season, Moukoko was given a chance by Dortmund head coach Edin Terzic after Ivory Coast international Sebastian Haller was diagnosed with a testicular tumor.

He did not disappoint. The player who weighs 72 kilograms went on to have a stellar campaign for Borussia, netting four times and registering three assists.

One of his goals came in a derby match against Dortmund arch-rivals Schalke 04.

The powerful forward, who was once racially abused by Schalke supporters scored a fantastic header in the dying moments of the match which was held on September 14.

His impressive performances for the Black and Yellows’ has made several top European clubs including Paris Saint Germain, Liverpool and Real Madrid to be interested in his signature.
