Former Harambee Stars skipper Victor Wanyama has noted that he has a few options on the table as he considers his next move after leaving Canada.

Wanyama who played his last match at CF Montreal on Sunday, October 23, noted that he would be first going for a holiday before deciding on which club to join next.

The 31-year-old midfielder revealed that his decision will be largely influenced by his family.

"I will go on holiday, rest a bit. There are a few options. I need a bit of time, look at everything that I've got and then decide what's good for me and my family," Wanyama stated.

The midfielder had announced before the end of the MLS season that he would not be extending his contract with the Canadian-based club where he was also a captain.

Wanyama joined Montréal in March 2020, from English Premier League side, Tottenham becoming the fifth most valuable player in MLS.

In a quest to have Wanyama extend his stay, MLS Montreal had offered him a one-year extension deal which he turned down.

As a Montreal player, Wanyama earned Ksh289.9 million annually.

The ex-Harambee Stars captain pointed out that the only thing he failed to achieve as a player was winning a trophy with the national team.

It is yet to be established whether he will return to Kenya or sign for another overseas club, with his former club Celtic being heavily linked with him.
