The Kenya under 20 junior national team were eliminated from the 2022 International Hockey Federation (IHF) Zone five tournament by neighbors Uganda on October 27.
The Thodosia Sangoro coached side were beaten 31-29 in an end to end game staged at the Ulinzi Sports Complex situated along Langata road.

Speaking after the match, Sangoro cited discipline related issues for their narrow defeat.
"The two cards we got in the final minutes of the game cost us, they were six and we were four so they had an advantage.
“In the first half we played well and contained them well especially in the first 20 minutes," he was quoted by Mozzart Sport.
Kenya needed to win the match in order to secure a slot in the knockout stage.
The youngsters had suffered a 28-25 defeat in the hands of Burundi in the opening game of the tournament.
They only managed to pick one win by beating South Sudan in a tournament which is being used as a qualifier for the upcoming African Championship slated for Guinea in December this year.
Moreover, the tournament which is scheduled to end on Sunday, October 30, serves as a qualifier for the 2023 World Championship.
