Schools That Have Sent Most Teams to the 2022 National Games

The Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) games return on Friday, September 9, 2022, after a two-year hiatus caused by the pandemic.

Most of the previous giants like the Kakamega High School and Nairobi High School will be missing out in this year's edition after being bundled out during the qualifiers by little-known schools.

TeamKenya.co.ke takes a look at the schools which have sent more teams to the games which will be held at Nakuru Boys High School.

According to the fixtures released earlier this week, below are the schools which will have more teams grace the championships.

Friends School Kamusinga 

Friends School Kamusinga (FSK) which is located in Kimilili, Bungoma County will have two teams take part in this year's edition.

Kamusinga will have representatives in Hockey and Basketball. The school’s hockey team which has won numerous titles in the past 10 years has been pooled in Pool A alongside arch-rivals St. Anthony’s Kitale, Mang’u High and Kisumu Day.

Their basketball team will compete in Pool A with Onjiko Boys and the Nairobi region’s Dagoretti High.

There are three teams in that pool because the North Eastern region has not yet confirmed their representatives because they failed to host regional finals due to a lack of funds.

St. Joseph’s Girls High School

The Kitale-based learning institution has sent the highest number of teams to the 2022 KSSSA term two national games.

Three teams from the school will grace the highly anticipated event. St. Joseph’s will field representatives in Basketball, Handball and the newly introduced 3X3 Basketball.

Kisumu Day

Nyanza region-based Kisumu Day Secondary School have also sent two teams to Nakuru.

The former East African Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) hockey champions will have representatives in football and Hockey. Their regional rivals Maseno School will not grace this year’s edition.

Dangucha

Dangucha Mixed secondary school will also have two teams at the 2022 term two national games. 

The school will field teams in both the boy's and girls' handball competitions. Their boy's team was pooled in Group A alongside former champions Kimilili Boys High School, Mbooni from the Eastern region and Hospital Hill.

Mang’u High

Central region representatives Mang’u High sent two teams this time round to the national tournament.

The Thika-based school will field representatives in hockey and handball.

Mang’u has previously represented Kenya in both events at the FEASSSA games.

Kaya Tiwi

Reigning national netball champions Kaya Tiwi High School from the Coastal region will also have two teams competing in Nakuru. 

Besides Netball, Kaya Tiwi is also set to field representatives in Hockey. 

Karima Girls High School

Two teams from Karima Girls High School also qualified for the national games. The Nyandarua County-based learning institution will field representatives in hockey and volleyball.
