Liverpool, PSG to Face Heavyweights in Champions League

Liverpool and Paris Saint Germain were paired with on form clubs in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 draw that was announced on Monday, November 7, 2022.

The Reds will play record champions Real Madrid while a star studded PSG side will square it out with Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich has enjoyed a brilliant Champions League run this season, failing to lose any of their group stage matches.

In other fixtures, Antonio Conte led Tottenham Hotspur side will play Serie A club AC Milan while Inter Milan will entertain Portuguese side Porto.

Chelsea, who were humbled by Arsenal at Stamford Bridge over the weekend have been paired with Borussia Dortmund.

The London-based side will begin their campaign at Dortmund’s Signal Iduna Park before welcoming the Black and Yellow side at Stamford Bridge.

Reigning English Premier League (EPL) champions Manchester City will battle for a quarterfinal slot with German side RB Leipzig.

The other fixtures will see Benfica play Club Brugge while current Serie A leaders Napoli welcome Eintracht Frankfurt.

Frankfurt won the Europa League last season after defeating Scottish side Rangers FC 5-4 on post-match penalties.

The two clubs had played to a 1-1 draw in a hotly contested final staged at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in Seville, Spain.

In the UEFA Europa League play-offs draw, a struggling FC Barcelona side have been paired with Manchester United. 

The two clubs made it to the Champions League final in 2009 and 2011, with Barcelona triumphing on both occasions.
