
Kenya picked up a historic win against France on Wednesday, November 8, 2022, at the ongoing Baseball5 World Cup in Mexico.
The team, made of mixed gender athletes beat the European nation 2-1 (4-5, 4-3, 8-4), further, increasing their chances of proceeding to the next round.
Kenyan players celebrated the crucial win by breaking into dance as they were cheered by fans at the venue.

Earlier, the team had suffered a 2-1 defeat against their African counterparts, Tunisia.
In the game against Tunisia, Kenya who finished second in the African qualifiers were leading 3-2 before Kenyan star, Simon Okeyo suffered an injury. This allowed Tunisia to produce a brilliant comeback
The team's preparation for the tournament was hampered by financial challenges to the point that they appealed for contributions from ordinary citizens to be able to grace the event.
Kenya currently sits third in their group behind leaders Tunisia and Venezuela.
Reigning African champions South Africa are fourth in their group after picking one win and one loss.
Kenya is scheduled to play a talented Venezuelan side in their next match before entertaining Asian champions Chinese Taipei.
The top three teams in each of the two groups will proceed to the Super Round while the bottom ones will face off in the placement round.
At the end of the Super Round, four teams will advance to the final round where the best three nations will be awarded.
