Otto Addo stepped down as the coach of Ghana after failing to advance to the knockout round at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

After the loss, Addo revealed that he would step down from his role as the Black Star's head coach.

He added that he would focus on his other job as an assistant at Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund.
“Yes, I said it before when I started as an assistant coach in October 2021. It was clear I would stop after the World Cup. At the moment, my family and I see our future in Germany, I like my role at Dortmund, and we are very happy there.
"From the day I started I said if we qualified, I would resign after the World Cup, even if we are champions,” Addo noted.
His fellow counterpart from Uruguay, Diego Alonso, followed suit with both Nations eliminated from the tournament.
Addo began his career as a coach for Ghana when he was appointed as one of the two deputies for the then-coach Milovan Rajevac.
He was appointed as the interim coach of Ghana in March 2022, guiding the Black Stars to the 2022 World Cup after knocking out Nigeria.
The 47-year-old leaves the World Cup with his own record after he became the first Ghanaian manager to win a match with the Black Stars at the quadrennial tournament after defeating Korea Republic 3 - 2.
