
National Football League( NFL) player Damar Hamlin was resuscitated twice after suffering cardiac arrest on the field during a game on Monday night, January 2, 2023.
According to a statement from his family, the American football player underwent the emergency procedure on the pitch and at the hospital.
The family, through Hamlin's uncle, Dorrian Glenn, revealed to CNN that the Buffalo Bills player was in critical condition in the hospital.

“His heart went out so they had to resuscitate him twice. They resuscitated him on the field before they brought him to the hospital and then they resuscitated him a second time when they got him to the hospital,” Dorrian Glenn told CNN.
Hamlins collapsed to the ground after making a tackle on Cincinnati Bengals, Tee Higgins.
According to the club, Hamlin spent the night in the intensive care unit (ICU) and was thankful for the support accorded to the family.
“We are deeply moved by the prayers, kind words, and donations from fans around the country,” a statement on Tuesday, January 3 read.
The NFL Players Association stated that they will assist both teams after the shocking incident.
Players were also encouraged to reach out if they needed to speak to someone as they have links to the union’s mental health counselling resources.
