Ksh536K Registration for FIFA 23 Gamers Closes After Kenyans Exceed Slots

Registration of the official 1vs1 EA SPORTS FIFA 23 tournament for gamers was closed on Thursday, February 16, after Kenyans exceeded the slots allocated.

Organizers of the tourney had previously announced that the registration drive would run up to February 23, or when a maximum of 320 participants enlist.

“We would like to inform our gaming community that the registration for the eligue1 tour competition for FIFA 23 gamers has been closed.

“We thank the gamers for registering in record numbers as well as promoting the competition on social media in unprecedented levels,” part of the statement read.

Through its statement, East Africa's premier esports agency, IndexG Esports, highlighted that 584 gamers had registered.

“Seeing that we have 584 registered gamers so far, and EA Sports allocated us two days of competition, we regret that we cannot accommodate more gamers.

“IndexG will always strive to deliver quality tournaments with proper gamer to equipment ratio thus the reason why we have taken this decision. bear with us if you weren't able to register on time,” the statement highlighted.

Kenyans were also invited to watch the grand finale live at the alliance francaise on march 11, 2023.

According to the organisers, players will compete for the chance to go all the way to the eLigue 1 Tour Finals in France.

The Kenyan eLigue 1 Qualifier, will receive different prizes with the winner taking home Ksh25,000.

First and second runners-up will receive Ksh15,000 and Ksh10,000 respectively with a fourth-place finish guaranteeing one Ksh5,000.
