Finishing third also meant that the Lionesses dream of qualification to the FIBA Afrobasket and the Africa Games went up in flames.

Kenya's star in the tournament was 19-year-old Medina Okot who was named in the All-Tournament team.

Hosts Uganda suffered a 74-65 defeat to Egypt in the final of FIBA Africa Zone 5.

Egypt booked its ticket to the 2023 FIBA Women's AfroBasket that will be held in Kigali, Rwanda.

The Egyptian queens joined Nigeria, Senegal, Mali, Cameroon and Rwanda who had already qualified.
