Two times Olympic gold medalist Caster Semenya has hit out at the World Athletics on their verdict in regards to her career.

Semenya tweeted that she will henceforth race as both male or female in different categories, according to the World Athletics.

The accomplished athlete has a condition that leads to high levels of testosterone in the body.

“So according to World Athletics and its members, I am a male when it comes to 400m,800m, 1500m and 1600m! Then a female in 100m,200m, and long-distance events. What a research!” her tweet read.

In 2018, the athletics governing body classified her as an athlete with differences in sex development (DSD).

The athletics governing body noted that Semenya was biologically male and recommended she reduces her natural testosterone to be allowed to participate in certain women's races.

The 31-year old, however, opposed the ruling arguing that being described as biologically male made was an insult.

The ruling then barred her from defending her world title in Doha.

Semenya is a philanthropist known for aiding children in Pretoria, Polokwane and Soweto. She also runs a club called Masai.

The 31-year-old also formed The Caster Semenya Foundation in 2016 to champion education matters.
