
Vihiga High lifted their maiden Prescott National Cup title on Sunday, October 30, 2022 after whitewashing Kisii School at the finals staged at RFUEA grounds, Nairobi.
The high-flying youngsters dismantled their Western region neighbors 29 - 08 in an epic final to enter into the history books of the tournament.
Vihiga, who are coached by Sebastian Ochieng, never lost a game in their competition. They defeated all their opponents with big margins.

To reach the final, Vihiga humbled Jomo Kenyatta 18-0 in a one-sided match played on Sunday morning.
Prior to overcoming Jomo Kenyatta, a talented Vihiga side had also thrashed Nairobi region representatives Ofafa Jericho and Kang’aru High 24-05 and 34-0 respectively.
Jomo Kenyatta bagged the third-place title after narrowly edging out Ofafa Jericho 3-0 in an earlier encounter.
Ten schools took part in the tournament which is organized every year by the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU).
All the teams that converged in the capital city won their regional competitions four months ago to book their slot at the national finals.
Some of the other learning institutions that took part in this year’s national finals include Gede, Utumishi Academy and Kiambu High.
Multiple champions Mang’u High, Lenana School, and Maseno also featured in the rugby 15s tournament.
