The London side defeated Asian Champions League winners Al-Hilal in their semi-final, to qualify for the finals.
Chelsea will be participating in its second Club World Cup tournament after winning the Champions League for a second time in 2021.
In the 2012 Champions League final, Chelsea won 4 - 3 over Bayern Munich.
However, Chelsea suffered a disappointing 1 - 0 loss to Brazilian side Corinthians in the final.
If the Blues get a win against Palmeiras, they will become the first London club to win the title.
Also, Chelsea’s skipper Cesar Azpilicueta will become the first Chelsea captain to win the FIFA Club World Cup if his team gets a win.
As for Chelsea's manager Thomas Tuchel, a win will make him win his fourth title as the clubs' manager having already won the 2020-21 UEFA Champions League and the 2021 UEFA Super Cup within the first year of his appointment.
