A Kenya Premier League match between Ulinzi Stars and AFC Leopard that was scheduled to take place on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 has been called off.

The match that was to be played at the Kericho Green Stadium was called off due to the lack of a well-equipped ambulance.

It was reported that Ulinzi, which was the home team, failed to provide a fully equipped ambulance for the fixture.

The ambulance that was to be used by the soldiers was said to have no equipment like a defibrillator which is a mandatory item required before a match is played.

However, this is not the first time the soldiers' match has been cancelled for the lack of an equipped ambulance.

Previously in January 2022, Sofapaka refused to play their match against the soldiers at the ASK Grounds in Nakuru after they brought in an ambulance that was not equipped.

Prior to the game Ulinzi were position 12 on the league table having garnered a total of 25 points while their counterparts Ingwe were 10th with a total of 26 points.

In other matches, league leaders Kakamega Homeboyz stretched their gap with 1-0 win over Vihiga Bullets at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega.

Nairobi City Stars suffered a 2-1 loss in the hands of Posta Ranger at the Ruaraka grounds, Nairobi.

In a derby match between Kariobangi Sharks and Mathare United the game ended in a 1-1 draw at the Moi International Stadium, Kasarani Annex.

Nzoia Sugar registered their fourth unbeaten game after a 1-1 draw against Bidco United at the Sudi Stadium in Bungoma.
