Roger Tweedle, 19 years old, has been banned from Everton's stadium, Goodison Park, for four years after pleading guilty to hitting Aston villa’s Matty Cash with a bottle of Lucozade.

Cash was struck in the face during a celebration before the end of the first half.

The teenager was arraigned before a magistrate court and handed an 8 week suspended jail sentence and 100 hours of community service for his common assault charge.

The prosecutor had stated in the court that Tweedle was identified by police officers after throwing the bottle at the Villa player. At the time of his arrest, the teen had not realized he had committed a crime.

He said that he was frustrated by how Villa scored their goal but insisted before District judge, James Clarke, that he was remorseful for his actions.

The judge called for a pre-sentence proceeding to reveal more about Tweedle and learnt that the teenager had no record of convictions.

“It is a serious matter throwing any bottle, plastic, or glass and striking someone in the face. Fortunately, no one was injured.

"The fact that it happened at a football match increases the seriousness” Clarke warned

Tweedle was granted bail ahead of his sentencing on March 24 and restricted from Goodison Park.
