Carols Alos Ferrer has been named the Rwandese national Head Coach following a long search for a new boss.
Ferrer has held a number of positions, including technical director of Barcelona FC and head coach of a number of professional clubs in Europe and Africa.
He also served as the Kazakhstan National team coach.
Ferrer, who holds a UEFA Pro Coaching License, will be replacing Vincent Mashami whose contract ended last month.
Following the Rwandan Football Federation's (Ferwafa) decision not to renew Vincent Mashami's contract due to a bad run of results.
Mashami was in charge of the Amavubi for nearly four years after taking over from German trainer Antoine Hey.
The Amavubi were in the for a new coach.
So far, eleven prominent names emerged as candidates for the Amavubi role, including Alain Giresse, who is well-known on the African continent for coaching the national teams of Mali, Senegal, Tunisia, and Gabon.
The Amavubi have competed in CECAFA on several occasions, but have only won once (1999).
They have, on the other hand, finished as runners-up on five occasions (2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011).
Rwanda's national football squad has only ever competed in the AFCON tournament once, in 2004.
They were unable to advance to the knockout stage. The team finished third in Group A, losing 1 - 0 to Tunisia before drawing 1 - 1 with Guinea and winning 1 - 0 against DR Congo in the last game.
