Kenya also scooped two silvers after Elizabeth Akinyi and Victor Odhiambo lost to home boxer Mave Kyangebeni and Colin Luis from Mauritius.
Kenya's Elly Ajowi was forced to settle for bronze in the super heavyweight division after he lost to DR Congo’s Umaga Bakola in the semi-finals.
Kenya will also feature in the Final session two with the likes of Christine Ongare (Minimum Weight) Stacy Ayoma (Light Weight), Lorna Kusa (Light MiddleWeight), Everlyn Akinyi (Welterweight), Shaffi Bakari (Bantam Weight) and Samuel Njau (Featherweight).
The national boxing team head coach Benjamin Musa, on April 7, criticised the organisers of the tournament for poor officiating.
Coach Musa challenged the official's decision citing a decision against Kenya's Christine Ongare that was overturned, awarding the win to Gisele Nyembo of DR Congo.
He also complained that the host has been adding players which has led to the draw being conducted on a daily basis.
“Our hosts keep adding players every day and that makes the bouts increase and lead to draws being done every day,” Musa noted earlier.
