Manchester United captain, Harry Maguire, was dropped to the bench for the Premier League match against Arsenal.

This comes after Maguire received a bomb threat on Thursday, April 21, at his home, prompting police explosive sniffer dogs to examine the area.

Maguire trained with the club. However, the Red Devils interim manager, Ralf Rangnick, decided to bench the defender.

Fans, for nearly the entire season, blamed the 29-year-old centre-back for Manchester United’s poor display with their recent 4-0 loss to Liverpool pushing them out of the top 4.

The England international in the 2021/2022 season has made 35 appearances in all competitions for missing only five Premier League matches for the club.

Rangnick chose to bring back French international Raphael Varane into the team after his injury recovery.

Also Returning to the team is Cristiano Ronaldo who missed the Liverpool match after the death of his son.

The Red Devils are under pressure to win against their rivals in order to keep their top-four ambitions alive so as to feature in the next season's Champions League.

Manchester United trail Tottenham Hotspur and Arenal who are at fourth and fifth respectively by three points having played a game extra.
