Peter Drury Leaves Premier League For American Broadcaster

Legendary football commentator, Peter Drury, is leaving Premier League Productions for NBC Sports in America.

Drury will be heading to America to replace Arlo White as the lead commentator for NBC’s coverage of the Premier League. 

Drury is set to begin commentating on Premier League games for NBC Sports as soon as the new season commences on August 6, 2022.

Drury has been commentating on some of the biggest games in the Premier League, with his most often partner Jim Beglin.

The 54-year-old broadcaster, who has been in the Premier League since 1998, is known for his poetic commentary style.

His commentary style has caught the attention of many with the likes of Arap Uria, a Kenyan comedian, mimicking him and gaining global fame.

"Arap Uria has been given us some of the most entertaining videos on social media and Peter Drury has noticed!" Supersport TV wrote on its social media page on Saturday, April 2. 

Drury went ahead to send a message to Arap Uria encouraging him to put more effort into his venture. 

"Arap, it is Peter here, I really wish I could be with you today but I'm here in Doha to witness the World Cup draw which is happening today," Drury stated. 

"I love what you do. I'm terrifically laughing with you it is superb with all the passion that you show and love your work. I hope one day we will get to meet face to face and you can teach me how to commentate." 

In one of his comments, Drury noted that he would miss his fans from Nairobi.

“Best wishes to all in Nairobi. Kind regards, Peter,” his stated.
