Arsenal star Bukayo Saka entered into the history books over the weekend by becoming the second youngest player behind Cesc Fabregass to make 100 premier league appearances for The Gunners.

The silky winger made his first team debut in November 2018 in a Europa League clash against Vorskla Poltava.

His Premier League debut came on January 1, 2019 in their 4-1 thrashing of minnows  Fulham FC.

Saka came on as a substitute in that game replacing Nigerian International Alex Iwobi, in the process becoming the first ever player born in the 21st century to feature in English top division.

Arsenal Football Club congratulated their star man before Saturday's evening clash.

“After being named in our starting line-up for today's game against Bournemouth, Bukayo Saka is set to complete a century of Premier League games for the club.

“Saka will become the second youngest player to play 100 times for us in the Premier League, behind only Cesc Fabregas. Congratulations Bukayo!,” read a statement from Arsenal FC.

The 20-year-old who graduated from the Hale End academy has been a revelation for The Gunners since making his debut.

Saka featured in all 38 Premier League games for the Mikel Arteta coached side during the 2022/2023 season, scoring 11 goals.

Bukayo, who is considered one of the best young players in the world, was influential in England’s delayed 2020 UEFA Euros Championship campaign helping them reach the final in which they were defeated by Italy in post-match penalties.

He showed nerves of steel in that final when he stepped forward to take one of the Three Lions penalty kicks.

Saka has so far registered a total of 24 goals for the Gunners in 134 appearances, with 17 of them coming in the Premier League. He is yet to net a goal this season.

Fabregas currently holds the record of being the youngest player to play 100 Premier League games for Arsenal. He reached his century in 2007 in Arsenal’s barren draw against Newcastle.

The Spanish midfielder created a record 846 chances and registered 111 assists in his Premier League career, making him one of the best creative players to ever feature in EPL.
